Lower the filter housing cover to expose the filter. Pull the old filter downward until it releases from the filter receptor, then pull it out.2. Remove the protective cap from the end of the new cartridge. With the filter’s two top notches in the horizontal position, align with the filter receptor and push it into the receptor until it stops.3. Lift the filter upwards until it stops and locks in place. Raise and close the filter cover.4. Run water from the dispenser (about 3 gallons or 5 minutes) to clear the system, prevent sputtering, and condition the new filter.5. On models with a replacement indicator light, press and hold the RESET WATER FILTER PAD about the dispenser for 3 seconds. Why does the water flow become smaller after using it for a period of time?Please follow the following troubleshooting methods:1) Air accumulation inside the filter. Please shake the filter 2-3 times before reinstalling it to check if it continues working.2) The second used filter is not installed in place, and the water valve at the junction of the filter head and the refrigerator fails to open. Please ensure the filter is installed in its place. Why is the water black after installing a new LG LT700P refrigerator water filter?The inside filter is made of coconut shell-activated carbon. The activated carbon was processed before it is made to be a carbon filter, so most ash content ( which leads to black water and particles in water) is removed during the production. But ash content can not be reduced to zero. When you initially use it, the extra ash content will be flushed with water. All the filters made of activated carbon are similar. Initial black water or fewer carbon fines can not be processed to be zero in the factory. Please run water from the dispenser for 6- 8 minutes (about 3-4 gallons) to clear the system and prevent sputtering.
